Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge in Uk Tours
Tower Bridge is one of London’s most iconic landmarks and a remarkable example of Victorian engineering. Officially opened in 1894, the bridge was designed to allow road and pedestrian traffic to cross the River Thames while its bascules could be raised to allow tall vessels to pass through.
Visitors can explore the North and South Towers, High-Level Walkways, spectacular Glass Floors, and Victorian Engine Rooms. From the walkways, guests can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of London from approximately 42 metres above the River Thames, while the Engine Rooms reveal the machinery that once powered the Bridge Lifts.
The experience is enhanced by iconic Victorian architecture, panoramic Thames views, glass-floor walkways, fascinating engineering, historic machinery, and the opportunity to see a working bridge, making Tower Bridge a memorable highlight of any London and UK tour with Oxford Travels.
