- Visits are available only through a pre-booked guided tour; self-drive visits are not permitted on public tours.
- Visitors must follow the instructions of sanctuary staff, guides and authorised personnel.
- Public tours generally operate as guided sunset experiences, allowing visitors to observe the kangaroos without disturbing their daytime rest.
- Visitors should maintain low noise levels and must not shout, clap, jump or make sudden movements, as kangaroos can be easily frightened.
- Visitors must remain with the tour group and on designated paths throughout the sanctuary walk.
- A walking distance of approximately 800 metres is involved, with a moderate level of fitness recommended.
- Visitors should wear closed shoes and a hat and carry a water bottle.
- Large photo/video equipment, noisy equipment, food, prams, wheelchairs and walkers are not permitted on the sanctuary walk. Small backpacks are permitted subject to the sanctuary's rules.
- Children under 7 years are not permitted on the current public tours.
- Visitors must not deliberately disturb, chase or frighten the kangaroos.
- Photography should be carried out quietly and without disturbing the animals.
- Commercial photography and filming require prior permission from the sanctuary.
- Visitors must respect the sanctuary's animal-welfare and conservation requirements at all times.
- The sanctuary may restrict or modify access because of heavy rain, storms, unsafe conditions or other circumstances affecting animal welfare and visitor safety.
- Visitors are responsible for their personal belongings and safety during the tour.
- Public-tour cancellations made more than 7 days before the tour incur a $25 per-person cancellation fee; cancellations 7 days or less before departure are non-refundable, according to the sanctuary's current published policy.
- Private-tour cancellation conditions are different and depend on the notice period: 80% refund more than 30 days before departure, 50% refund 14–30 days before departure, and no refund 1–14 days before departure.
- If the sanctuary cancels a tour because of heavy rain, storms or other safety reasons, arrangements will be handled according to the sanctuary's cancellation policy.
- Late arrival or failure to join the scheduled tour may result in loss of the booking without refund, subject to the operator's terms.
- If the sanctuary is included in an organised Alice Springs tour, the tour operator's own cancellation and refund conditions may also apply.
