Mkomazana Mountain Cottages

One of the Southern Drakensbergs best kept secrets, the gateway to Sani Pass, Mkomazana Mountain Cottages lies snugly in the heart of the Sani Pass, within a magnificent World Heritage Site. Just 9km from the South African border to Lesotho, Mkomazana exudes old-world, rustic charm from its days as a bustling trading post in the 1800’s. You are sure to see reedbuck and eland on our walking and hiking trails or spot an extraordinary range of birdlife including the majestic Black Eagle and the Bearded Vulture, Barrett’s Warbler, and Fairy Flycatcher. Recharge your batteries in the fresh mountain air, get lost in your thoughts while trout fishing, explore the mountains, visit the highest pub in Africa in Lesotho (you’ll need your passport) or experience the area’s remarkable historical attractions. There is something for everyone at Mkomazana! Payment before arrival via bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions.
