Visa Overview

E-Visa

Vietnam visa for Indian passport holders through Oxford Travels is an online-assisted visa service that enables travelers to visit Vietnam for tourism purposes without visiting the embassy. The visa is generally issued as an e-Visa (single-entry) allowing a stay of up to 30 days, though in some cases multiple-entry or longer duration visas (up to 90 days) may be available depending on approval by Vietnamese immigration authorities. The visa is typically valid for a specific entry period, and travelers must enter Vietnam within the approved validity dates.

The application process is completed online via Oxford Travels, where applicants are required to submit scanned copies of essential documents. These usually include a valid passport with at least 6 months validity, a recent passport-size photograph, confirmed return flight tickets, hotel booking or accommodation details, and a travel itinerary. In some cases, additional documents may be requested depending on the applicant’s profile and immigration requirements.

After submission of the application and payment, the processing time generally takes around 3 to 5 working days, although it may vary based on case verification or peak travel periods. Express processing options may also be available for faster approval. Once approved, the visa is issued electronically and sent via email, which must be printed and presented during travel.

It is important to note that visa approval is entirely at the discretion of Vietnam immigration authorities, and submitting all required documents does not guarantee approval. The visa fee is generally non-refundable even if the visa is rejected, and applicants must ensure that all details provided are accurate to avoid delays or rejection.

Overall, the Vietnam visa process through Oxford Travels is a convenient and efficient option for Indian travelers, offering a simple online application system, minimal documentation, and relatively quick processing for tourism and short-term visits to Vietnam.

What are the requirements for Indians to visit Vietnam:

  1. Passport Validity: The minimum passport validity for the Indians necessary to go to Vietnam is 6 months. This validity should be present at the time of entry into Vietnam. The passport must also have a minimum of 2 blank pages for stamping the visa. Also, there should be no tampering or alteration of passport documents whatsoever.

  2. Assurance of Return: Due to increasing cases of improper immigration, the Vietnamese embassy looks out for the assurance of the candidate to return back to their native country. This is also important to get a Vietnam visitor visa and can often be proved by return flight tickets, assets at home country, or family to go back to. This ensures the immigration officer that the person has a reason to go back to their native country.

  • Valid passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months and has sufficient blank pages. If not, renew your passport before applying.

Can I extend my e-visa while in Vietnam?
No, a Vietnam visa is non-extendable. However, if you wish to stay longer, you can request an agency/organisation/individual in Vietnam to guarantee your stay and apply for a new visa on your behalf at the Vietnam Immigration Department.

Note: Overstaying on a visa is highly discouraged. The Government of Vietnam has recently increased the penalties for visa overstays, and fines can be substantial. Moreover, processing exit visas for cases involving visa overstays can take one to two weeks and longer for more complex cases. Therefore, you must apply for a visa extension before your current visa expires.
