The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a union territory of India, an archipelago in the Bay of Bengal known for its diverse landscapes, tropical rainforests, and rich marine life. Comprising 572 islands and islets, only about 38 are inhabited. The islands are geographically divided into the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands, separated by the Ten Degree Channel. Port Blair serves as the capital and largest town.
