Activity Overview

Ice Caves in Austria offer a fascinating journey into the natural world of underground ice formations and spectacular mountain landscapes. Among Austria’s most famous attractions is the Eisriesenwelt in Werfen, the world’s largest ice cave, located within the Tennengebirge mountain range near Salzburg.

Visitors can venture deep into the mountain to discover an extraordinary underground world filled with massive ice formations, frozen chambers, ice walls, and naturally sculpted shapes. The journey combines an exciting mountain experience with the opportunity to explore one of nature’s most remarkable creations.

The experience is enhanced by glacier-like ice formations, underground chambers, dramatic mountain scenery, guided exploration, and breathtaking Alpine landscapes, making the Ice Caves a memorable highlight of any Austria and Europe tour with Oxford Travels.
